NY Legislature to Protect Abortion Rights With Health Data Bill

New York lawmakers intend to pass a measure this week that would provide new privacy protections for health data as part of efforts to safeguard abortion rights following the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

Passage of the health data privacy legislation (S.B. 929) could lay the groundwork for additional proposals, including potential restrictions on artificial intelligence that could constrain tech companies and the data they collect. Gov. Kathy Hochul will review the legislation, according to her spokesperson.
