Oil and Gas Industry Chief Touts US Return to ‘Energy Realism’

Federal energy policy did a 180 this year thanks to Washington’s Republican trifecta of President Donald Trump and a GOP-controlled House and Senate—and those changes bolstered an already-powerful US oil and gas industry.

The administration and Republican Congress reversed much of former President Joe Biden’s clean energy agenda and gutted key renewable energy investments embedded in Democrats’ signature 2022 tax-and-climate law. The proliferation of AI data centers, both actual and anticipated, have increased energy demands on the grid, all while Americans’ utility costs balloon.
