Oil, Gas Influence Needed to Seal Permitting Deal, Democrats Say

The oil, gas, and broader business community should try to convince the administration that President Donald Trump’s attacks on renewable energy projects are damaging efforts to pass bipartisan legislation overhauling permitting, Democrats and others invested in the issue said.

Negotiations among top lawmakers to update the federal permitting process for energy and infrastructure projects are in limbo because Democrats are livid over delays and stop work orders related to offshore wind and other renewable activities.
