The energy industry is ramping up pressure on Congress to figure out a viable path forward on permitting over the next several weeks.
“A deal has to occur before the August recess,” said Mike Sommers, president and chief executive officer of the American Petroleum Institute, about an overhaul of federal permitting, which lawmakers have been working on for years.
