Requirements for oil refiners in California to maintain minimum supplies of fuel were advanced Thursday by a state Assembly committee for a special legislative session on gas prices called for by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
The Assembly Petroleum and Gasoline Supply Committee approved the measure, though with several changes following pushback from labor unions and the oil industry that would narrow its scope.
