OpenAI’s newest in-house lobbying hires show the company is taking an aggressive, global approach — styled on political campaigns — as fights about data centers and energy use require an increased presence on Capitol Hill and around the world.

The maker of ChatGPT scooped up lobbying and policy executives from rival tech companies including Meta Platforms Inc., TikTok Inc., and Alphabet Inc.'s Google.
