Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton won over voters Tuesday when he defeated Sen. John Cornyn in a historically expensive primary runoff, but now he’s working to convince K Street he’s a candidate worth investing in.

His campaign scheduled a fundraising stop next week in Washington, DC, with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), according to an invitation sent to lobbyists Wednesday morning.

Paxton, who lagged incumbent Cornyn (R-Texas) in fundraising throughout their hotly contested primary, will now face Democratic state Sen. James Talarico in November in what’s expected to be one of the most expensive races in the country. The Republican candidates ...
