Pence Says Constitution Can Help Congress End Redistricting War

Former Vice President Mike Pence says Congress can rein in the partisan redistricting fights that have reshaped the 2026 midterms by passing a law that ties new maps to the census every 10 years.

In an interview with Bloomberg Government on Wednesday, Pence said lawmakers have the constitutional power to bar states from redrawing congressional lines outside the once-a-decade census, a step that could defuse the map wars now playing out in both parties.
