Pennsylvania Republican to Lead House Probe of Trump Shooting

The Pennsylvania lawmaker who represents the district where former President Donald Trump was shot will lead the House bipartisan team investigating the attempted assassination.

House leaders on Monday tapped Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) as chairman of the task force and named six other Republicans and six Democrats to the group. The task force has the high-profile assignment of assessing security lapses by the Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies involved in protecting the July 13 Pennsylvania rally where Trump was injured by a would-be assassin.
