Pentagon Boosted Guided Missile Procurement Before Iran Strikes

The Defense Department awarded $18.4 billion in unclassified spending for missile defense systems in fiscal 2025, with procurement for guided missiles within that market increasing by 52% from the previous year’s levels, according to a Bloomberg Government analysis.

The Pentagon’s arsenal of air and missile interceptors is under scrutiny after the US and Israel launched strikes on Iran, which responded with attacks on US bases and allies that have depleted US stockpiles.
