Pentagon Seeks $3.3 Billion Shift for Border Actions, Recruiting

The Pentagon is asking Congress for permission to shift about $3.3 billion among accounts to cover emergency military support at the Southwest border to interdict drug flows, as well as recruiting and advertising efforts and purchases of more RTX Corp. SM-6 missiles for the Indo-Pacific region.

The reprogramming request also includes military intelligence programs where the needs are for GPS capabilities and stellar trackers, the space-based infrared system, and a series of classified programs, documents obtained by Bloomberg Government show.
