Pentagon Seeks More Money for Troubled Air Force One Replacement

The Pentagon is asking Congress to shift billions to reprioritize projects including Boeing Co.‘s new Air Force One that’s years behind schedule.

Documents obtained by Bloomberg Government show the $5.58 billion reprogramming requests seek to shift $150 million to the VC-25B program — the Air Force One replacement contract that Boeing has struggled for years to deliver. The money is needed to buy spares and other items to deliver the aircraft up to two years earlier “than the current 2029 baseline.”
