Pentagon to Spend $151 Billion on Ships, Missiles, Fighter Jets

The Pentagon plans to spend $151.5 billion in mandatory spending with a focus on military capabilities in the Indo-Pacific region, air and missile defense, and munitions, according to a blueprint submitted to lawmakers.

The blueprint, obtained by Bloomberg Government, details the spending plan for the money Congress allocated to defense in the reconciliation bill last year. The Pentagon plans to spend about $15 billion to mass produce low-cost weapons, such as drones, which has been a major focus of the Pentagon’s leadership. Shipbuilding would see about $29 billion this fiscal year.
