The rising number of serious aviation near misses could become crashes in the future unless Congress and the administration acts, safety officials warned senators Thursday.
“Our safety system is showing clear signs of strain that we cannot ignore,” Jennifer Homendy, chair of the National Transportation Safety Board, said. She added later: “Frankly, I don’t want to hear about more meetings. I don’t want to hear about conferences. I don’t want to hear about summits. God damn do something.”
