Power Rule Exemptions for Data Center Makers Proposed in House

House Republicans are pitching to exempt manufacturers and data center developers with off-grid power systems from federal regulations in an effort to combat rising energy prices.

The bill, known as the Decentralized Access to Technology Alternatives Act, aims to prevent large-scale projects from raising electricity prices for households and other businesses connected to the main electricity grid. The proposal comes amid a surge in data center development to support new artificial intelligence infrastructure.
