Pressure Grows on Austin for Failure to Disclose Hospitalization

Top congressional Republicans increased pressure on Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin Wednesday, demanding a full account of how he and other officials failed to disclose health issues that resulted in the Pentagon chief’s hospitalization.

Sen. Roger Wicker, the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, sent a letter to Austin with 11 other members of the panel requesting a detailed timeline of events over the last two weeks, which they called a “massive failure of judgment and negligence.”
