A major Washington-based immigrants’ rights group is expanding its reach to tech policy with a new political arm focused on both immigration policy and the regulation of artificial intelligence and online safety.
The Immigration Hub on Tuesday announced the launch of Catalyze/Citizens to help counter disinformation, as well as anti-immigrant rhetoric often used by President-elect Donald Trump. The group plans to push policies focused on online safety and accountability, including an overhaul to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which shields social media companies from liability over third-party content.
