Record Small Business Contracts Axed in Trump’s First 100 Days

The number of small business contractors issued work cancellation notices has surged to record levels this year as the Trump administration executes its cut-and-consolidate initiatives.

More than 1,800 small business contractors received “terminations for convenience” notices from civilian agencies since President Donald Trump took office on Jan. 20, exceeding prior years’ averages as he surpasses the 100th day of his second term on April 30.

By comparison, about 130 companies had contracts terminated for convenience in the final days of the Biden administration. The daily average of vendors losing work skyrocketed over the last three months.
