Republican Measure Seeks to Boost Oil and Gas Leasing in Alaska

A Biden-era move to limit oil and gas leasing in the coastal plain of Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge would be repealed under a new Republican measure.

The GOP again is using the Congressional Review Act to try and gut energy and environmental agency decisions finalized during the Biden administration. Rep. Nick Begich (R-Alaska) introduced the disapproval resolution related to ANWR (H.J. Res. 131) on Friday.
