Russell Vought got one step closer to a return engagement as President Donald Trump’s budget director Thursday, as a committee advanced his nomination to the Senate floor.
The Senate Budget Committee Republicans voted 11-0 to advance Vought’s nomination. Democrats didn’t attend the vote, instead holding a press conference to criticize Vought’s positions.
