Congressional Republicans want to vote on Elon Musk’s spending cuts, as lawmakers in both chambers aim to solidify the legally perilous Department of Government Efficiency project.
Republicans in both chambers met with Musk in closed-door meetings on Wednesday and discussed voting on measures to rescind funds targeted by DOGE effort. Senators said they expect the White House to send a proposal to cancel those funds — know as a rescission — which they could pass with a simple majority.
