Republicans Spend Millions to Keep Pro-Trump Tennessee District

Republicans are sparing no expense to win a congressional special election in Tennessee, seeking to head off a string of strong Democratic electoral performances since President Donald Trump returned to the White House.

Three GOP-aligned groups have spent more than $2 million to buttress Republican nominee Matt Van Epps, an Army combat veteran and former state Cabinet secretary favored over Democratic state Rep. Aftyn Behn in a lower-turnout Dec. 2 election in the west-central 7th District.
