Republican support for Russell Vought is steady, even as the Trump administration zigzags its way through a crisis spurred by the White House’s proposed funding pause.
The Senate Budget Committee is set to vote today on Vought’s nomination to serve as President Donald Trump’s budget director. No GOP members of the panel have spoken out against Vought, despite consternation over a now-rescinded Office of Management and Budget memo calling for a pause on a broad swath of federal funding.
