Republicans Target State Climate Mandates Related to Energy Grid

States would be prevented from mandating certain renewable energy standards related to the electric grid under a Republican bill introduced Wednesday in the Senate.

The legislation aims to restrict states from creating or enforcing laws and regulations that would require a specific percentage of electricity generation, retail sales, or procurement come from renewable, zero-emission, or carbon-free energy sources.
