Two senior Republicans are vying to lead one of the most influential House panels that will set the agenda for health policy debates as Republicans look to change the Affordable Care Act.

The top two candidates in a tight race to lead the House Energy and Commerce Committee are Reps. Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.) and Bob Latta (R-Ohio), who have eyed the position since Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) announced her plan to retire earlier this year.
