An Army veteran, two state representatives, and a Donald Trump pardon recipient are competing in a crowded Republican primary Tuesday in a vacant Tennessee congressional district the party is favored to hold but can’t take for granted.
Ten Republicans are seeking Tennessee’s 7th District, which ex-Rep. Mark Green (R) vacated in July. The GOP field is jam-packed because the west-central Tennessee district strongly favors their party, there’s easy access to the ballot, and those with other elected positions get a free shot to run without relinquishing their posts.
