GOP retirements have set off a race to head the House Financial Services Committee, which has jurisdiction over issues important to Wall Street and whose members are a magnet for campaign cash.

Chairman Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) announced he will leave Congress after serving as the top Republican on the panel for the past five years. The surprise retirement of senior committee member Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-Mo.) leaves no clear frontrunner to succeed McHenry.
