House appropriators advanced a fiscal 2026 spending measure late Thursday that would boost funding for nuclear energy and national security while slashing many clean energy programs.
The full Appropriations panel voted 35-27 to approve a $57.3 billion measure funding the Energy Department, Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation, and related agencies. That’s $766.4 million less overall for energy and water programs in fiscal 2026 than current funding.
