RFK Replaces Chief of Staff in Shakeup at Top US Health Agency

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s chief of staff Heather Flick Melanson departed after six months in the role, according to people familiar with the matter. Kennedy has appointed Matt Buckham as acting chief of staff effective immediately.

Flick Melanson served in two administrations, according to her bio on the Republican National Lawyers Association page. She couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

Buckham, who’s replacing her in an “acting” capacity, is currently Kennedy’s White House liaison for HHS and oversees recruitment of political appointees within the agency, according to a statement from HHS.
