Rollback of Oil and Gas Rule from Biden Era Passes in Senate (1)

Senate Republicans are moving forward on an effort to kill recent regulations put in place by the Biden administration, starting with a rule they say targets offshore oil and gas production.

The Senate passed the measure in a 54-44 vote Tuesday. The measure (S. J. Res. 11) would cancel a regulation issued by former President Joe Biden’s Interior Department that required any oil and gas exploration development plan for the Outer Continental Shelf to include an archaeological report.

Three Democrats voted with Republicans on the measure: Catherine Cortez Masto (Nev.), John Hickenlooper (Colo.), and Jacky Rosen (Nev.).
