GOP’s Senate Plans Muddled as Rosendale Launches Montana Bid (2)

Montana Rep. Matt Rosendale announced Friday he plans to try again to seek election to the Senate, complicating Republicans’ path to the majority and triggering tension between top GOP lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

Rosendale’s bid for the GOP nomination to challenge Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) pits him against Washington-backed government contractor Tim Sheehy. And though Rosendale invoked Donald Trump in his announcement video, the ex-president quickly made it clear that he’s backing the newcomer.
