Montana Republican Rep. Matt Rosendale, who’s days into an uphill Senate bid, said Monday he will refuse donations from corporate political action committees and registered lobbyists.
Such refusals have become more common, almost entirely among Democratic candidates and incumbents since the 2018 cycle, and are largely symbolic, especially for challengers who do not typically haul in significant sums from corporate PACs or lobbyists.
“I’m going to be going out and relying upon the folks across Montana, across the nation, quite frankly, to help with the campaign,” Rosendale said in an interview, sharing his decision first with Bloomberg Government.
