USAID contracting officials received a directive Sunday to terminate a broad swath of funding awards, according to a memo reviewed by Bloomberg Government. The directive affects dozens of awards totaling up to $2 billion, according to two employees who reviewed an accompanying document.
The funding is for global education programs, independent media, and democracy promotion in Latin American countries, among a range of other programs, the employees said.
