Rubio Heading to Munich for Security Forum After Greenland Alarm

Secretary of State Marco Rubio will take part in Europe’s premier annual security conference and meetings with counterparts, just weeks after President Donald Trump’s desire to acquire Greenland generated alarm among US allies.

Rubio will participate in the Munich Security Conference taking place Feb. 13 to 15, the State Department said in a statement. He will then travel to Bratislava, Slovakia, for meetings with government officials to advance regional security interests, and discuss bilateral issues like nuclear energy as well as the nation’s military modernization and NATO commitments.
