The House will be in session 34 weeks of 2025, according to the calendar released Wednesday by Majority Leader Steve Scalise’s office.
The session will begin when lawmakers return to the Hill on Jan. 3 to elect a speaker. Republicans already chose Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) as their nominee for the 119th Congress, but he still needs to get a majority on the floor to be reelected.
