Minority Leader Chuck Schumer — and the Senate Democrats who splintered from his caucus in a vote to reopen the government last night — woke up to fierce political backlash from progressives for backing an end to the 41-day shutdown.

The Senate deal has breathed new life into preexisting calls for Senate Democrats to replace Schumer (D-N.Y.) at the top of their party.
