Arnold Schwarzenegger is ramping up his opposition to Governor Gavin Newsom’s plan to redraw California’s political maps, urging voters to fight it.

The 78-year-old movie star and former Republican governor said the new congressional districts would encourage political polarization, depriving voters of hard-won rights to elect responsive representatives. The most populous US state, California has roughly 25% of its voters registered as Republicans.
