Secret Service Finds Lessons in Review of Texas Mass Shooting

Community members and law enforcement failed to address mounting warning signs before a gunman killed 26 people at a Texas church, the Secret Service said in its latest analysis of mass casualty attacks.

The Secret Service on Wednesday unveiled its case study of the 2017 shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, aiming to draw lessons for communities to root out similar violence across the US.

The analysis, first reported by Bloomberg Government, is the latest effort by the Secret Service to address violence far beyond the immediate threats facing US political officials and other protectees.
