Senate Sends Rescissions Back to House

Senate Republicans passed a bill at about 2:30 a.m. to claw back $9 billion in foreign aid and public broadcasting funds, teeing up a final House vote to codify a small slice of the cuts proposed by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency.

Senators voted 51-48 to rescind funds from the State Department, the US Agency for International Development, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which supports National Public Radio and the Public Broadcasting Service.
