President Donald Trump is keeping it in the family.
The Senate confirmed Charles Kushner to be ambassador to France on Monday night as Trump turns to his familial ties to relay his administration’s diplomacy at international posts.
Kushner, a real estate developer and the father of Trump’s son-in-law, Jared, secured the post in a 51-45 Senate vote. He served more than a year in federal prison for crimes including tax evasion and witness tampering. Trump later pardoned him in 2020.
