A slate of President Donald Trump’s nominees are headed for do-over votes in committee as Senate Republicans work to speed up their confirmations.
The Senate sent dozens of committee-approved nominees back to those panels this week as the chamber aims to expedite their path for confirmations on the floor with a rule change. The picks, which range from US attorneys to ambassadors, were largely approved earlier by the panels on voice vote, a common practice, or using proxies, and are now being sent back for roll call votes, for procedural reasons.
