Senate GOP Forges Ahead With Markup of Four Annual Funding Bills

Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Susan Collins scheduled the markup next week of the panel’s first four spending bills for the next fiscal year, moving ahead despite a partisan stalemate over government funding.

The panel will consider the Agriculture-FDA, Military Construction-VA, Commerce-Justice-Science, and Legislative Branch bills on June 25, Collins (R-Maine) announced Thursday.

The notice marks the latest escalation in the debate between the two parties on how to avoid a fourth government shutdown of Trump’s second term in October.
