Senate Republicans narrowly blocked a bipartisan rebuke of a controversial policy from Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The Senate voted 50-50 on Thursday to defeat a measure (S.J.Res.82) from Sen. Angus King (I-Maine) that would repeal a Trump administration rule waiving public comment periods on actions related to loans, grants, benefits, or contracts, which critics argue would limit transparency.
