Senate GOP Presses Ahead With Biden Clean Energy Agenda Rollback

The Senate on Thursday passed two energy and environment-related measures as Republican lawmakers work to undo former President Joe Biden’s clean energy policy agenda.

The pair of Congressional Review Act resolutions would cancel more stringent requirements for commercial refrigerators and EPA clean air standards.

One cleared for President Donald Trump’s signature (H. J. Res. 75) would reverse stricter standards for commercial refrigerators, freezers, and refrigerator-freezers. The rule, which the Biden administration implemented last year, requires commercial refrigeration equipment to include new technologies to reduce energy usage starting in January 2029.
