Senate GOP Presses Forward on Trump Nominees During Shutdown

Senate Republicans are moving ahead with quickly installing President Donald Trump’s nominees despite the ongoing government shutdown.

The Senate took a procedural vote on Wednesday to advance a package of more than 100 nominees, which includes agency heads, ambassadors and US attorneys. Herschel Walker to be ambassador to the Bahamas and David Fink to head the Federal Railroad Administration are among the list of nominees in the resolution (S. Res. 412).
