Senate Moving on Housing This Week After Legislation Logjam (1)

The Senate will vote on an updated version of a bipartisan affordable housing legislative package this week, according to Senate aides, marking the latest step after months of negotiations as lawmakers in the House and Senate pushed competing versions of the bill.

The timing of Senate action on the updated 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act (H.R. 6644) was confirmed by a person familiar with floor negotiations.

The legislation is backed by Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), the committee’s ranking member.
