Senate Rejects Effort to Restore Biden Power Plant Emission Rule

Senators voted Wednesday to back the Environmental Protection Agency’s moves to loosen emissions standards for power plants fired by coal and oil.

The chamber voted 46-53 to reject a motion to start debate on a measure (S. J. Res. 188) that would have reversed the Trump administration’s cancellation of stricter standards issued by the Biden administration in 2024.
