The Senate will convene on Fridays and work for about 180 days in 2025, according to the calendar posted Thursday by incoming Majority Leader John Thune.
Senators will return to the Hill on Jan. 3, kicking off the session that will run longer than the House and now includes Friday work throughout the year. The chamber, which is expected to work on confirming President Donald Trump’s nominees early in the session, will not have its first recess until the middle of March.
