Senator Overseeing Pentagon Says Congress in the Dark on Changes

The Pentagon’s policy office is leaving the Senate committee charged with overseeing it in the dark on national security strategy and a global US military posture review, according to its top Republican.

Senate Armed Services Chairman Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) criticized the lack of outreach to Congress on Tuesday, particularly over what he described as a lack of communication from Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby. Colby is the principal adviser to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on matters of defense and foreign policy.
