Senator Running for Indiana Governor Makes an ‘Outsider’ Pitch

A sitting US senator and a former state commerce secretary are campaigning as though government experience might not be what Republican voters are looking for in their next governor.

US Sen. Mike Braun’s campaign describes the one-term senator as “the ultimate outsider in Indiana politics” after “37 years building a Main Street business into a national company.”

Former Commerce Secretary Brad Chambers says in a campaign ad, “I’m the only outsider running for governor. I spent my entire professional career growing a business and creating jobs including the trades. I’m a career problem solver, not a career politician.”
